YOU WILL NEED

• Winter Cover
• Winter Chemicals
• Skimmer opening cover
• Plug for return fitting
• Cover Pump or Syphon

PROCESS:

• ADD WINTERIZER LIQUID or the WINTERIZER POWDER KIT to your pool and run filter for 1 hour.

 

• COVER YOUR SKIMMER OPENING so that the water level can remain in the higher position. You do not have to drain the skimmer below the bottom of the skimmer
   
  (We sell both the AQUADOR PLASTIC COVER or PLASTIC  OPENING COVER you can purchase if you do not have either of these).   

 

• COVER THE POOL RETURN JET OPENING, by removing the eyeball piece from the wall fitting and use a white screw plug or black rubber plug to block the opening.

 

• DRAIN THE WATER FROM THE FILTER SYSTEM.
   
  Clean filter to ensure that there is no bacteria/algae left in the tank.
   
  Store filter system in a warm place.

 

• REMOVE THE POOL ENTRY SYSTEM (ladder/steps/bridge) and place in a secure location

 

• PLACE COVER ON POOL SURFACE
   
  We have found that pool pillows are not necessary to hold up the cover during the winter.  They often deflate and still require a pool pump to remove the water off the cover.

 

• SECURE POOL COVER with cable/winch, and/or cover clips.

 

• PLACE POOL PUMP in center of pool and hook up garden hose (for motorized pump) or clear hose (for manual pump)
   
   
  IMPORTANT:
   
  ****(POOL COVER MUST BE KEPT FREE OF WATER ACCUMULATING DURING THE WINTER).  Resin top rails tend to warp during the winter due to water buildup on the cover that is not continually pumped off
